About This Place

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Disney Springs, Summer House on the Lake is a Californian restaurant that brilliantly captures the essence of elevated coastal dining with a twist. From the moment you step inside, the bright, airy atmosphere welcomes you with natural light and an inviting, beachside-inspired charm that complements its picturesque lake views, especially when seated towards the back.

The menu at Summer House on the Lake artfully blends fresh, bold flavors with comforting classics and exciting innovations. One can’t help but be drawn to signature dishes that promise a delightful culinary journey. Start with the Sea Salt Chocolate Chip cookies — decadently crisp and meltingly sweet — or the delightfully creamy Potato Salad Deviled Eggs, a unique twist that balances richness with a gentle tang.

For a true taste of California’s coastal vibrancy, the Ahi Tuna & Watermelon Tostadas stand out. These tostadas burst with the refreshing combo of hass avocado, Thai chili, and crisp corn tortillas, delivering layers of texture and bright, spicy-sweet flavors that linger beautifully on the palate. Fans of raw and chilled options also rave about the Hamachi Sashimi, served with a delicate white soy ponzu and jalapeño, which sharpens the rich, buttery fish to perfection.

If you’re craving something heartier, the Steak and Frites is an exceptional choice, featuring a juicy New York Strip accompanied by crispy fries and a luscious peppercorn sauce that elevates every bite. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich and Picnic Fried Chicken Basket offer satisfying textures and flavors, embodying comfort food done with a refined touch.

Vegetable lovers are not forgotten here: dishes like Caramelized Brussels Sprouts with balsamic vinegar and grana padano, or Grilled Avocado with matcha salsa, showcase a beautiful balance of smoky char and fresh herbal notes. Even the pizzas become a canvas of gourmet indulgence, from the earthy Shaved Mushroom pie with gruyère and truffle to the classic simplicity of a Margherita.

Around cocktails and beverages, the creativity further shines. From the bright and tropical notes of the Orlando Spritz to the hypnotic charm of the Lavender Haze, each drink is crafted to complement the cuisine without overshadowing it. Non-alcoholic options like the Zero Proof Pineapple Kick receive praise for their refreshing, thoughtful composition.

The service here complements the ambiance perfectly — friendly and knowledgeable yet perfectly respectful of your dining pace. Guests appreciate attentive service that enhances the experience without feeling intrusive, allowing you to savor every bite and sip. It’s the subtle touches, like a server’s thoughtful tip on how to savor every drop of your starter’s sauce, that make visits to Summer House on the Lake truly memorable.

While some guests note that prices are on the higher side, the quality and care in every dish and drink justify the experience. Whether you’re visiting for a lively brunch with family, a late lunch soak-in, or a romantic dinner illuminated by the gentle glow of Disney Springs’ nighttime lights, Summer House on the Lake promises a refined yet relaxed culinary escape that speaks to both locals and travelers alike.

In short, Summer House on the Lake is more than just a restaurant; it’s a beautifully orchestrated celebration of Californian flavors and coastal ease, set against the lively backdrop of Orlando’s most iconic entertainment district. For those seeking a dining experience that balances creativity, atmosphere, and genuine warmth, this destination shines brightly.

We heard good things about this place, so we made sure to add it to our list during our Disney trip. Happy we came, but there were some flaws - delicious, but pricey. The service during our entire meal was great - they allowed us to enjoy our meal without checking in on us every 5 minutes. They were knowledgeable and had a great tip to save the sauce from our starter to dip the crust from our mains. Excellent choice! The atmosphere may be a little dark for some - I usually dont mind it, but this environment felt darker than most. The light on our table even went out which didn't help either. We started off with the Potato Latke and the Wagyu Meatballs. For the price, it felt these fell short in terms of portion. We wanted more for the price. They were both good - meatballs were juicy and tender and the sour cream and applesauce paired very well with the fried potato. Would we get them again? Probably not. For the mains, we both had a pizza. I am a white sauce/no sauce kind of pizza lover. Sacrilegious I know but I can't help it. I knew the shaved mushroom pizza was the pizza to try and I am glad I did. This pizza was so good. The mushrooms were very present and the truffle may be a little overpowering for some people - I enjoyed it. It was creamy and the cheese was stretchy. The dough was also a great balance between soft and crunchy with a thin-ish crust. Will definitely get again when we return! I couldn't leave without getting a few cookies as I heard they rivaled Gideon's. I left with 6 and they were all very very good! Apple Oatmeal, Frosty, Raspberry Swirl, Lemon, Snickerdoodle, and Sea Salt Chocolate Chip. I would get them all again - they all had the perfect soft and chewy texture that I think makes for a perfect cookie. Some may say they are overpriced, but for the size, you can't really go wrong.

We did Summer House for brunch on a Saturday with a party of 4, including two kids. The restaurant is beautiful inside, bright, airy, inviting and wonderful natural lighting. We sat toward the back of the restaurant but were pleased to have a bit of a view of the lake. Service was wonderful. We never sat waiting for a drink or the next item to hit the table. The drinks were delicious and the food was great. I would definitely go back again and again. Our one son ordered the famous giant cinnamon roll and it was the size of his head. It was sooo good: light, fluffy, sweet, balanced with a little tart from the blueberries and lemon. The hash was delicious! Their deviled eggs were awesome too. My son loved the DIY Shirley temple. So fun!

I decided to have a late lunch at Summer House Restaurant in Disney Springs. Even though I had a reservation, I was seated right away as a walk-in. I skipped the appetizers since nothing really caught my eye and went straight for the New York Strip, which came with fries, arugula, and a delicious peppercorn sauce on the steak! it was really good. To drink, I had the Zero Proof Pineapple Kick, which was refreshing and went perfectly with the meal. For dessert, I ordered their Lemon Butter Cake along with a cappuccino. The cake was absolutely amazing! OMG, the best dessert I’ve had in a while, and the portion was huge, easily enough for three people. My waiter, David, was very nice and provided great service. I’ll definitely be going back again with family and friends.

Great food and atmosphere! Luke was a great server, very polite and knowledgeable. My favorite thing was the Ahi Tuna Watermelon tostadas... least fav was the Salmon poke app - i was expecting raw salmon, but it seemed like it was cooked

Experience was great! Shawn was the bar tender who served us. He was knowledgeable & didn’t lead us astray with recommendations! The potato salad deviled eggs & the goey lemon butter cake were standouts! The ambiance is nice, it gives elevated beach side restaurant! It’s located in Disney Springs so you’re able to take a stroll afterwards! I’d recommend going at night to catch the lights!

We arrived an hour early for our reservation but they were able to seat us within 10 minutes. We lucked out and scored an amazing table on the patio with a beautiful view of the lake. Shout out to our server Trevor, who was amazing! We ordered our food and one of our meals did not come out cooked as requested. Trevor immediately took care of the situation and even alerted a manager (we wouldn’t have complained- mistakes happen), who was very nice and she offered to make it right. We were very appreciative of the prompt response from the staff and the way they handled everything. The food came out and it was delicious. Everything we ordered, the flavors were on point and the service and attention to detail was amazing! We ordered the potato pancakes, breakfast tostados and their famously delicious giant cinnamon roll. We will absolutely be back.

Like cookies? Hidden cookie gem! Honestly better than Gideon's (come here for cookies instead). Definitely one of the top restaurants at Disney springs and that's saying a lot because there's a lot of amazing restaurants! The Caesar salad was one of the best we've ever had. The peppercorn sauce was incredible, fish and chips crispy. And again the cookies... Wow the flavors and variety was next level!

Great environment! Amazing food! The Steak and Fries was awesome! The best i’ve ever had. Fries were crispy and the steak very well made! Perfect seasoning! My wife had a Rigatoni a la vodka. Very good well. Highlight to the pepper strengthening the flavor. The place is always crowded: make a reservation before showing up. We also got the cookie to go, and they’re quite sweet, but very good.
